I am in the process of purchasing an SJ24 and was curious what other owners thought about their boats. I have been sailing an SJ21 for the last 9 years and was wanting something a little bigger. Came across this one and I am just beside myself and can't wait ...
... anyone has either a drawing or could send me a rough sketch with measurements I'll CAD it and send it out as a PDF so others here can have their own for future consideration.
It looks great! Unfortunately it is difficult for some of us without required sail making skills and leaving in small downtown apartments to follow your example :) The last year I ordered 110 jib from Lee Sails. So far no complains about quality, but definitely it is more fun to have your _own_ sail...
Well, to answer my own question, I finally decided, and built, a fully (4) battened loose footed main, and I love it! http://www3.telus.net/sailing/main1.jpg http://www3.telus.net/sailing/main2.jpg http://www3.telus.net/sailing/main3.jpg ...
... "12 Ga Black Powder Blanks Only" "Do Not Fire Self-contained Ammunition" and use only brass 12 ga shells in it; and it can't hurt to have your own personal OK from the ATF.
I own a 1974 SJ-24 and everytime I take her out I get water coming back up through the cockpit scupper drain holes. Any good ideas for plugs? Do they make a flip-lock plug large enough for those diameter holes? What do you use on your SJ? Thanks for your help.

... bring a camera to capture pictures of how bad the growth is when I lean the boat over to get access below the waterline... you won't believe your own eyes. Hopefully this winter I'll get the Cal 25 off the trailer so I can take the SJ-24 home and spruce her up! If anyone needs any special tools, ...

... fixing the side of the hull and deck repainted the whole boat, all new running rigging, and all new to me racing sails. She is fast, she holds her own up wind with the J24's and screams downwind. She is allot different than the SJ24 I owned thats for shure. Just moving the rudder too fast will ...
My Ritchie HV-77 compass has a dome with small cracks (it seems there was some kind of hit before I own the boat). It still fully functional, just doesn't look pretty. I had talked to Ritchie USA (very helpful people) and for around $20US got new dome, o-ring and fill plug. ...
... event (put all your cruising gear back on board). Perhaps an arrangement could be made for a boat or two to ferry those who cannot bring their own boat out for the weekend from West Seattle (Duwamish Head / Salty's) and Manchester and back for the pot luck? Thoughts? Mark Rider SJ 24 "Skamokawa" ...

... pictures to the gallery (hey, it is designed for it :)) and post the gallery link in forum. I have created the members folder there, make your own subfolder. The only concern I have - don't post really big pictures, it makes the forum slower to respond and also causes the layout looks bad on ...
