considering buying an SJ24

Hi all, I'm considering buying a SJ24. I've been to take a look at it, somewhat superficially. Didn't really get a chance to dig into it,but here are the things I know, or noticed. -HIN indicates it's a 78 hull -no motor -supposedly bottom painted last year, hull and decks ...

I spoke with Gene Adams this afternoon. He's got the best price I found (at $45 USD) and can ship it tomorrow. Ordered and waiting.

And I actually did consider making one out of a 2x4, but didn't want to become the redneck sailor at our club :p

sj24.org domain

I have registered sj24.org domain today (the previous owner didn't renew it), "org" extension fits better a community site, so sj24.net will be re-branded eventually to sj24.org.
sj24.net will still remain in service for at least a few of more years (or longer if there is need for it).

I painted my decks last summer. I didn't use Perfection, I used Brightsides (on the smooth parts - cabin sides, cockpit sides, etc.). It was my first roll and tip job. I wasn't sure how it would turn out. It turned out very well. I regret ...

Hi Peter,

Mine s/n is also on the transom, are you sure you didn't just miss it there?
If you want I can take a picture of the exact location this weekend.

I didn't bring a camera. There wasn't much to take pictures of really because Kevin and my family and I were the only ones there. I suppose a picture of us sawing the growth off of my hull would have been worthwhile. On Sunday, ...

Didn't make it yesterday... but I did get my boat ready (somewhat).

I can't get to the Dock today until noon (Tide issues), and will
have to wash it down quickly (It's FILTHY), then will head to Blake
Island.

See you there around 13:00 today (Saturday).

... to it... sort of a flourescent school bus color. Yea my wife would call that the "Special Bus". I used to have a Trooper that was that color, she didn't even want me to pick her up in it while we were dating. I got so much crap for it. The boat was painted already red by the PO. it had scrapes ...

... anything about nuts) Then I realized that you, forgot the you. Of course I am nuts. D'oh! Yes, that should read "what are you, nuts!" At least I didn't put "your" instead of the ommitted "you" The boat looks nice. I like the Capri25 and the Merit 25 (even though some consider the Merit ...

... Date: Sat Oct 27, 2001 9:50 am The guy who had #79 before me tried to clear up the compass by having the "oil" replaced. He said it didn't work at all, and now, two years later, it still looks bad. It's been suggested that the discoloration may be in the globe itself (on the outside)...but ...

Yeah, Yahoo's search has improved some,
but it still seems like Yahoo really didn't give it their best effort.

I've towed my SJ24 for short distances, and it really didn't work very well, you don't have a steady pull on the tow rope, so you always stop with a jerk once you take a stroke and the rope comes tight, which isn't a good way to transfer the power of ...
