Thats all it has to do, Mark. When you are not sailing, you simply use your main halyard to support the end of the boom.

I would like to eventually change my system to a Boomkicker. With the main down, take your main halyard and clip it onto the end of the boom. That way you can raise the boom to a comfortable height for entering the cockpit etc. While sailing, the boomkicker offers plenty of strength to support the w...

That sounds like the topping lift on my boat. A line from the top of the mast to the end of the boom. There is a clam cleat at the end of the boom you can feed the line through. This gives you some adjustment. It's not a great system, and its on the list for replacement, but, it does work, so it is ...

Is that "Pinky and the Brain"? It's cool, but I'm not sure how it will look with the Spitfire hull.

How about having the "Mostly Harmless" painted down the side in an Army Stencil font?

There are some files under the Files section of this website, including the Owner's Manual. That should give you a start. On the Yahoo Group, under the files section, there are additional files. http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sj-24 Lots of information on that site, including spinnaker setups, cre...

I painted my decks last summer. I didn't use Perfection, I used Brightsides (on the smooth parts - cabin sides, cockpit sides, etc.). It was my first roll and tip job. I wasn't sure how it would turn out. It turned out very well. I regret not using a 2 part paint, as they are more durable, and last ...

Hi Peter, Mine is molded into the transom on the starboard side, about halfway between the motor mount and the starboard edge of the transom, down an inch or two from the top. Has your hull been painted? Sometimes the HIN is filled and sanded on boats while undergoing a paint job. Did you check the ...

I can't see your boat from my house, the sheds will be in the way. I might be able to see the mast. I think I have seen your boat leaving the marina though. Your boat makes at least 3 yellow San Juans in Nanaimo.

Newcastle Marina? I can see the marina from my kitchen. I'll have to look for a San Juan there. What color is it?

What size headsail are you looking for?

On my '74 it is molded into the gelcoat on the transom. I have also heard of it being engraved into the aluminum strip at the top of the transom, or at the aft end of the toe rail (starboard I think).
